BECOME A FREELANCE WRITER
Writing is an awesome option if you have some mad research skills and enjoy putting your thoughts onto paper (or in this case a computer screen). Having organization skills is also a plus in this line of work since your ability to stay on topic and elaborate on certain subjects will help you write more cohesive, helpful articles.
If making money with your words sounds good to you, check out Write Your Way To Your First 1K or 30 Days Or Less To Freelance Writing Success.
They’re both amazing options for beginners who want to make money with their writing but aren’t sure where or how to get started. Both courses bring something unique to the table and cover a few different topics to help you on your journey. So be sure to read through the table of contents of each to see which one looks like the best fit for you. 🙂
I’ve talked to as well as follow both course creators and think they have some of the most actionable tips available online for beginner freelancers. Whether you’re looking for pitching tips or ideas on finding clients through social media, I’d highly recommend checking out their blogs!
The last thing I want to mention on these courses is that they include exclusive Facebook group access where you can talk to and learn from others in the same boat as you. HUGE plus when you’re new to the freelance world!

BECOME A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
If you’re a natural renaissance soul and love supporting business owners on their journey to success, becoming a VA is definitely an option to consider.
You can work with as many clients as you want, offer a variety of different services (125+), and save entrepreneurs time so they can focus on the areas of their business they enjoy most
I’ve personally taken Gina Horkey’s course 30 Days To Virtual Assistant Success and to this day believe it’s the best investment I’ve made yet. The course includes 12 modules on starting a successful VA business within 1 month and covers how to find clients, pitching, setting your rates and tons more!
Whether you’re aiming to become a VA as a side hustle, or planning on going full-time, the potential is unlimited! Virtual assistants in North America typically average around $25 per hour and move up with experience, or they can offer different packages with fixed rates.

BECOME AN AFFILIATE MARKETER
The idea behind affiliate marketing is that when you promote a product you love and someone purchases that product from your specific link, you can make a commission. Commissions vary from $4-40% depending on the affiliate program, but no doubt it’s an awesome way to make money online. With or without a blog!
To elaborate on that last point, let’s say you have a Pinterest or Twitter account that has a small to medium following. You could become an affiliate for products you’ve tried and loved, and then promote (tweet or pin) them to your audience. If one of your viewers clicks through and purchases something from your link, you get a commission!
Just a quick mention here that the product or service you promote should come from a reputable source. And should be something you’ve tried, could write in detail about, or personally know the creator of.
THOUGHTS ON AFFILIATE MARKETING
Affiliate marketing is something new I’ve been experimenting with lately and think it’s a great way to make income online in the long term. Even though you may not make a lot at first, you could potentially make money from the links you put out now years down the line.
Want to know the main blog I’ve been devouring for info on affiliate marketing? House of Brazen. Elise’s blog has tons of tips, advice and income reports showing how she makes a living from affiliate marketing and how you can too. She also offers this handy ebook on How To Make Your First Affiliate Sale In 24 Hours Using Pinterest.
I’ve recently gone through it and although I didn’t make my first sale within 24 hours, I was able to make double my money back in 2 weeks!
Which side hustle are you thinking of trying out?
